The saying "The job of the artist is always deepening the mystery" by Francis Bacon defines the missions of an artist which are exploring and exploiting things that no one ever has answer or knowledge of. Such mystery that it makes ordinary people difficult or impossible to understand or explain.

Art has always been a mystery because it is a broad spectrum of images and emotions. If we say “art is profound”, then there is no limit in art categories. Everything in the world has been enriched for centuries, and every century, there are such extraordinary creations of individuals that we hardly could explain. Thus, art has an infinite depth that even the creator himself may not be able to show all.

As an artist, he needs bravery, courage, and sacrifice to be a pioneer to dig into the mystery and then bring out an enlightenment, a clarification, and an introduction to something that no one has ever known. In the world, there are many artists who, in their field, have received such achievements and are honored as pioneers. For example, Alexander McQueen, a "dark knight" in the fashion world, has become a monument that is hard to be obscured.

People remember him as an incarnation of an arrogant violence but still weak and dreamy. In 1996, he shook the entire fashion world for being the chief designer of Givenchy after his predecessor-John Galliano left. Although possessing the excellent sewing skills, the fact that he was a designer with only 2 years of experience exceeding others talented to take on Givenchy’s creative director is incredibly abnormal. Bill was considered a genius by his boldness breaking all the rules to create his own empire like Coco Chanel or Yves Saint Laurent.

But Bill was not a gilded monument, he was a bulky figure of a serpent who knew how to use scissors and needles, or a tyrant who ripped off the ordinary outfits and then placed the tiny butterflies to where he crushed. Alexander McQueen’s designs have become iconic and been exhibited in the MET.

The exhibition, organized by The Costume Institute, celebrated the late Alexander McQueen’s extraordinary contributions to fashion.

Alexander Mcqueen is the living proof that when an artist goes to the realm of breakthrough and creativity to bring something new to their time so that now when his name are mentioned, he is honored as a great hero. As artists, we always need to think outside of the box and do things that nobody dares to do because “out of limitations comes creativity".
